Thank you for your interest in the privacy policy of g+m elektronik ag. In this statement, we inform you about the nature, scope and purpose of the collection and use of personal data by our company in accordance with the new data protection law in Switzerland from September 1, 2023.
The data protection responsibility lies with Jörg Ammann, our CEO.
1.0 General information
g+m elektronik ag takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. Personal data is information that relates to an identified or identifiable natural person. We collect, process and use personal data only in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the new data protection law in Switzerland from September 1, 2023.
2.0 Data processing on the website
2.1 Logging
When you visit our website, your browser sends technical data, which is automatically logged by our web server (server log). The web server is operated on our behalf in Switzerland by a Swiss hoster. The logged data are namely:
• the browser ID;
• the date and time our website was accessed;
• the IP address to which the page was delivered;
• the address of the website from which you came to our website and
• the web pages that you have visited on our website.
We use the server log exclusively to ensure the proper operation of the web server (troubleshooting, clarification of abuse, defense against attempted attacks). Only the hoster has access to the server log, whereby no access takes place without concrete cause. Server logs older than 6 months are automatically deleted.
2.2 Google Analytics
To improve our website and adapt it to the needs of our visitors, we use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information about the use of our website. The information generated by cookies about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google uses this information to evaluate the use of the website, compile reports on website activity for us and provide other services related to website and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. We have concluded an order data processing agreement with Google.
Google Analytics is used due to our legitimate interest in the statistical evaluation of user behavior in order to optimize our website and our offer (Article 6(1)(f) DSG). The data is automatically deleted after 14 months.
You can disable the use of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. For more information on the use of data by Google Analytics, please refer to Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
2.3 YouTube
We use embedded YouTube videos to provide you with content in the form of videos on our website. When you play a YouTube video, YouTube cookies are stored on your terminal device and may collect personal data. We have no influence on the data collection and processing by YouTube. 2.4 Cookies
We use cookies to improve the functionality of our website and to provide certain features. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your terminal device when you visit our website. They allow us to recognize your browser and store certain information. We use both session cookies, which are automatically deleted after you close your browser, and permanent cookies, which remain on your end device for a longer period of time. You have the option to deactivate the use of cookies in your browser settings, but this may lead to restrictions in the functionality of our website.
2.5 Login to download area
For registration in our download area, we collect and process personal data that you provide to us as part of the registration process for the login. We use this data exclusively to carry out the secure login in order to provide customer-specific documents. The legal basis for the processing of this data is your consent, which you give us by registering (Article 6(1)(a) DSG).
3.0 Data processing in the ticket system for support
When you use our ticket system for support requests, we collect and process personal data that you provide to us as part of the request. We use this data exclusively for processing and answering your request. The legal basis for processing this data is the fulfillment of a contract or the implementation of pre-contractual measures (Article 6(1)(b) DSG). The operator of the software is an American company, the data is hosted on servers in the EU area.
4.0 Data processing for applications
When you apply to us, we collect and process personal data that you provide to us as part of the application. We use this data exclusively to carry out the application process. The legal basis for processing this data is the performance of a contract or the implementation of pre-contractual measures (Article 6(1)(b) DSG).
5.0 Data processing for order processing
5.1 In the course of contract processing, we collect and process personal data that is necessary for the performance of the contract. This includes, among other things, the processing of data for the delivery of goods or the provision of services. The legal basis for processing this data is the performance of a contract or the implementation of pre-contractual measures (Article 6(1)(b) DSG).
5.2 Risk & credit management in connection with order processing.
To reduce the probability of default, we transmit address data to the company Dun&Bradstreet. There is a contract for commissioned data processing.

5.3 Sanction control
We transfer address data to the company Trade Monkey for the legally required sanction control. There is a contract for order data processing.

5.4 Passar (formerly EVV)
For the handling of customs procedures in the context of export orders, we transmit all legally required data to the competent customs authorities via the Passar system. The data protection declaration of the BAZG applies.
The legal basis for processing this data is the fulfillment of a contract or the implementation of pre-contractual measures (Article 6(1)(b) DSG).
6.0 Data processing in log files of the telephone system.
We store log files about telephone calls to ensure the quality of our services, identify and resolve any problems. The following data is collected:
• telephone number of the caller
• name of the caller in case of address book resolution
• time of interaction
The storage takes place on our in-house server.
The legal basis for processing this data is our legitimate interest in ensuring the quality of our services (Article 6(1)(f) DSG).
7.0 Data processing for advertising measures
If you have consented to the use of your data for advertising measures, we will use your personal data to send you information about our products, offers and news. The legal basis for the processing of this data is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) DSG). For sending newsletters, we transmit your contact data to a company commissioned by us and based in Switzerland. There is a contract with this company for the secure processing of your data.
8.0 Data transfer to third parties
We will only disclose your personal data to third parties if this is necessary to fulfill the contract, if we are required to do so by law, or if you have given your consent. We take reasonable steps to ensure that third parties who have access to your data comply with appropriate data protection standards.
9.0 Data security
We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data from loss, misuse and unauthorized access. Our security measures are regularly reviewed and adapted to technological progress.
10.0 Your rights
You have the right to receive information about the personal data we have stored about you. In addition, you have the right to rectification, deletion and restriction of the processing of your data. You can also object to the processing of your data for advertising purposes or revoke your consent. 11.0 Changes to the privacy policy
We reserve the right to change this privacy policy at any time in order to adapt it to legal or technical developments. The current version is available on our website.
